Happy first day of February. How are you doing on your social media resolutions?

In 1937, Napoleon Hill published Think and Grow Rich. His principles are still applicable in business today. I remember reading it years ago. I was truly fascinated at his insight that transcended after an entire generation (although it has nothing to do with social media).

One of his 17 Principles of Personal Achievement is what I’ve been working on for 2013. 

Lesson 2: Mastermind Alliance
The Mastermind principle consists of an alliance of two or more minds working in perfect harmony for the attainment of a common definite objective. Success does not come without the cooperation of others.

Does this sound unattainable in this super busy world? It isn’t.

Since I moved to the SF Bay Area at the end of in 2011, I’ve wanted to start a Social Media Mastermind inspired by the successful Social Media Mastermind of Orange County, SMMOC. After being invited by my friend, Chris Fleury , I met so many brilliant minds in the short two months I attended the group. Chris’ son was in my daughter’s class in elementary school. Thank you, Chris.

I met organizer, real estate guru, Bob Watson , a dynamic and professional thought-leader who presided over each meeting with authority and humor. Both traits worthy of a charismatic leader. Thank you, Bob.

I also connected with Oscar Gonzalez , website expert from SMMOC , who encouraged my entrepreneurial ideas. And I appreciate Stephanie Shaterian of Founding Mom’s Exchange who has given me wise words from an organizer perspective. She runs the fun and informative SF meetup group for mompreneurs.

I’m happy to report that I FINALLY just launched the Bay Area Social Media Mastermind! I added “Meetup Organizer” to my name. I saw a need in the Bay Area community to take the “mastermind” idea regarding social media to the NEXT LEVEL. 

I finalized all the details of the first meetup and I’m ecstatic at the interest this past week with 63 members and 20 attending. Sure, I know there will be attrition. There will be road blocks. There will be u-turns.

But so excited that it has come to fruition! 

We launch Bay Area Social Media Mastermind on Wednesday, March 6th at the Laptop Lounge in Walnut Creek. Be the FIRST TO ATTEND and help me launch our think tank of social media enthusiasts, newbies, and experts.

Instagram just launched Reels, Facebook's answer to Tiktok! I tested it out for the first time and well, I need more practice for sure! Or I needed more coffee. Surely I needed help in general. But after searching for the "audio" selection which offers music clips for your Reels I gave up. My business account, @sparqmarketing, doesn't yet have "audio". So I went over to the next best thing, my personal account @alisonstripling. Why do I have two accounts? So I don't spam you with all my pics of all my kids. You're welcome.
