I wanted to share this from Hubspot.
Focus on engagement. You are trying to connect and get response from your community. Ask questions, post helpful tips, links to articles that your audience will Like and Share. When you make the posts about your audience and what they need rather than selling, you will develop a richer and deeper relationship with your community. You will sell more as a byproduct of that deeper relationship. Set aside time to follow up on posts and respond to questions on your Wall.
Engagement is about being creative. How do I create content so that my audience will want to connect with me?
Let’s say you have a compelling photo or post that you want to promote often and you want to keep the “social proof” (all the comments and shares). If you click on a previous post of yours and click, “Pin to Top,” your post will move to the top of your Timeline.
If you’ve been fascinated with Facebook, you’ve probably run across Mari Smith , Facebook Marketing Expert and Social Media Thought Leader. Here’s how she engaged her audience with 670+ comments and 116 shares. Staggering.
So all the “social proof” she has in this one post may have come from many weeks of her Facebook Fan Page Friday, not just from today. Pretty slick, I must say.
