We’re all forcing ourselves to get smarter, faster, leaner, and meaner . Figuratively speaking, of course.
But how are you doing? Want some tips from business pros ? I’ve surveyed my executive and entrepreneur friends to see what they’ve done to recession-proof their businesses. Thanks a million (plagiarized from Alissa, see below) to the 37 of you who participated. There were so many more of you that I wanted to ask! So if I didn’t include you, comment below and I’ll add you next time.

What’s helped the most is subscribing to Dailyworth.com , bolstering 401k contributions and increasing how much is put away into a high yield savings account every month. When that rainy day hits …you can be prepared to ‘lean into the curve’.

Just thought I’d add that the investment doesn’t have to be monetary. With webinars so available, the biggest investment can be your time.

The philosophy of being good to people goes beyond the customer in my company as well. I want my employees to be treated (an treat each other) with the utmost respect and care. I consider my clients and my staff as friends. I feel treating them well not only keeps them happy but also makes them want to stay with the company and give a little extra…something I’m not expecting but I see it comes back when people are treated with kindness.
Of course I’m not talking about dollars and ROI here and it may be really simplistic but because I had to give just one tip….that’s the one I feel encompasses a lot when you’re fighting a tough economy. You want to stand out: be exceptional.
