In January 2008, about 1-1/2 after the birth of our last child, I started blogging. One month after, I joined Facebook. That year was the start of my digital love affair. I started reading mommy blogs, crafting blogs, interior design blogs - if it was online and fun to read, I read it. I started reading Dooce The post Blogging for Business appeared first on Sparq Marketing.
In January 2008, about 1-1/2 after the birth of our last child, I started blogging. One month after, I joined Facebook. That year was the start of my digital love affair.
I started reading mommy blogs, crafting blogs, interior design blogs – if it was online and fun to read, I read it. I started reading Dooce and Zen Habits and watched their blogs shoot to the top of the blogosphere.
I wasn’t a consistent blogger and it took me hours (embarrassing) to write a post and I didn’t really want anyone to read it. Nevertheless, I knew that the more I practiced, the better I’d get. At least that’s what I was hoping.
Almost 5 years later, I thought I’d get serious about blogging. I knew that I could blog about my daily life with four active kids, share all the thousands of pictures that I snap of them, and if I posted 2 or 3 times a week and had a compelling message, I’d gain readers. But where’s the ROI on all that?
So last year started Cornerstone Creative to generate income, channel my inner creativity, and challenge my brain and talents. I’ve since connected with Greta Boris , author, blogger, friend, and partner in crime launching our digital woman’s magazine, Vanity Network Magazine , who has encouraged me to blog. And recently joined a blogging group lead by the web guru and friend, Oscar Gonzalez. And now, after all the inspiration and support from my friends, I can call myself a blogger for business.
Yes, blogging for business is important. Pretty convincing, right? Are you blogging for business?
