Today I’m telling you a story…
Amy of ABC Pilates is a savvy business owner and she is one of the top Pilates teacher trainers in Southern California. She just launched her Pilates Teacher Training site and blogs about tips for her trainees.
I’ve been working for few months now tweaking and finding right marketing strategy between Amy, her Studio Manager, Katherine, and me.
Chicken scratched little notes…aka CONTENT.
Usually Katherine would shoot me an email of what she envisions for the content of the email, I’ll do the some editing and all the formatting/graphics, and Amy will put her final touches on it before we schedule the email.
On Monday, November 21, I was at ABC Pilates shooting testimonial videos for Amy. She then says that she wants to send out an email the next day for Black Friday Specials! Wait. Terrific idea but I’ve got 531 things to do before I go to bed that night and I was working on 237. AND I was having a sneezing/runny nose attack. But the show must go on, right?
I agreed to do it (working on the content calendar with these girls) and Katherine hands me two little notes with chicken scratch on them of what she wants in the email. What? No well thought out content?? No nicely written email??
So I whipped it together and Amy did her edits that night. We successfully sent the email out Tuesday and resent out a reminder email about the Black Friday Specials on Thanksgiving. Done and done.
Early evening on Black Friday I got a call from Amy. I thought we were going to talk about a gameplan for the next week. But she told me that ABC Pilates had done a tremendous amount of business (she disclosed the $$ to me) on Black Friday and attributed the success to our email marketing efforts!
